The Meaning of Christmas! πŸŽ…πŸ»

If you read my Christmas Traditions post, you'll have seen what I do during the Christmas season and the majority of mine involve family. Family is what Christmas is about for me.

I'm not religious at all. In fact I'm an atheist and despite the fact that I'm a christened Christian, I don't believe in God. That's a whole other post but the point is, Christmas is traditionally a religious celebration to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and saviour.

To me, yes that's the background, but it has now it's become a very commercialised holiday. While that may be true, it's important to me, to remember what it's all about and for each person that's different.

For me it's about family. It's for spending time with loved ones and remembering the those that are no longer with us. It's for truly appreciating all you have and enjoying lifes little moments. It's for sitting back and looking at all you have. Instead of wanting for something else, realise all you have, take it in and say thank you.

It's a time to think not about yourself but about others. Giving to people and sharing your wealth rather than taking everything for yourself. Gift to give and not to receive for that happiness you instill in others whom open your presents will last longer than that you feel from opening your own.

So to everyone, whatever the meaning of Christmas is to you, I hope you have the most wonderful time celebrating this weekend. Merry Christmas!
